Denison University seeks applicants for the role of Director of International Admission in the Office of Admission. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Admission & Marketing, the Director of International Admission is responsible for providing strategic leadership for international student recruitment and enrollment for the University, including identifying new strategic initiatives in international recruitment and admission, developing data-informed and nuanced recruitment and enrollment priorities, planning and executing international student recruitment, and reviewing international student applicants for admission.
A member of the admission leadership team, the Director of International Admission will work closely with the Enrollment Management leadership team and other key university stakeholders to lead all aspects of international enrollment goals for the University. Preference will be given to candidates interested in a campus-based role residing near Columbus, OH or a remote role in a major domestic airline hub city.
Evening and weekend work is required, particularly when engaged in recruitment activities and other travel, as is extensive public speaking and liaising with the broader campus community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Provide strategic leadership, vision, and oversight to the recruitment of international students luate and analyze data to inform the effectiveness of international enrollment strategy and develop new initiatives. Cultivate and communicate a rich understanding of admission and enrollment trends as they relate to international students and selective liberal arts colleges. Sit on the admission leadership team.
Manage all aspects of the University's international student recruitment program; including travel internationally and domestically, participate in recruitment events, develop and execute strategies to engage international audiences, conduct interviews, evaluate applications for admission, oversee aid leveraging strategy for international applicants, and advise students, parents, and counselors on matters related to admissions and financial aid. Craft a class of international students that is academically talented, broadly diverse, and meets the other university defined goals.
Develop and maintain productive relationships with counselors throughout the world to help support student recruitment and retention. Liaise with the Denison Center for Global Programs and international partner organizations. Oversee recruitment on US military bases both domestically and abroad. Work with alumni, families, and friends of Denison to help increase institutional visibility.
Represents the University in a professional manner. Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Direct supervision by the Associate Vice President for Strategic Admission & Enrollment Marketing and close coordination with the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
This role requires five or more years of progressive experience working in college admission, including at least three years of international recruitment and admission experience. A bachelor's degree is required. In addition, the ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
* Competitive spirit and demonstrated experience working in international recruitment and admission with expert-level knowledge of the international admission landscape, including educational systems, recruitment markets, and visa processes;
* Demonstrated experience successfully operating at a strategic level, providing vision and leadership for international recruitment through data-informed analysis;
* Demonstrated cultural competence and strong presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills. Ability and commitment to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality;
* Collaborative team player with the ability to work in a high stress, deadline-driven environment;
* Exceptional work ethic, excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with highest standards for accuracy;
* Technically savvy and operationally fluent, including experience with a CRM.
* A bias toward action, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Must have a valid passport and a current, valid driver's license and must be insurable under Denison's liability insurance policy.
Preferred:
Master's degree
Experience working with the Technolutions Slate CRM
Clear understanding of and ability to communicate the values and mission of a residential, liberal arts college.
Salary: $110,000-$120,000
