Mathematics Teacher

Lordstown High School is seeking a highly qualified and student-centered Mathematics Teacher to teach Algebra and Geometry. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction while fostering a positive learning environment that supports student growth, engagement, and achievement.

• Teach Algebra and Geometry using Ohio Learning Standards (or applicable state standards).
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
• Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate interventions and extensions.
• Integrate instructional technology and data-driven practices into daily instruction.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.
• Establish a positive classroom culture focused on high expectations and mutual respect.
• Collaborate with colleagues, intervention teams, and support staff.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators.
• Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school initiatives.

• Valid State of Ohio teaching license (or ability to obtain) in Mathematics (Grades 7–12 or appropriate licensure).
• Strong content knowledge in Algebra and Geometry.
• Ability to engage students with varying skill levels and learning needs.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration.

• Experience teaching Algebra and/or Geometry at the secondary level.
• Familiarity with NWEA MAP, state assessments, or similar data tools.
• Experience with intervention strategies, co-teaching, or inclusive practices.
