Position SummaryLordstown High School is seeking a highly qualified and student-centered Mathematics Teacher to teach Algebra and Geometry. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction while fostering a positive learning environment that supports student growth, engagement, and achievement.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Algebra and Geometry using Ohio Learning Standards (or applicable state standards).
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instruction.
- Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate interventions and extensions.
- Integrate instructional technology and data-driven practices into daily instruction.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and grades.
- Establish a positive classroom culture focused on high expectations and mutual respect.
- Collaborate with colleagues, intervention teams, and support staff.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators.
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school initiatives.
- Valid State of Ohio teaching license (or ability to obtain) in Mathematics (Grades 7–12 or appropriate licensure).
- Strong content knowledge in Algebra and Geometry.
- Ability to engage students with varying skill levels and learning needs.
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional growth and collaboration.
- Experience teaching Algebra and/or Geometry at the secondary level.
- Familiarity with NWEA MAP, state assessments, or similar data tools.
- Experience with intervention strategies, co-teaching, or inclusive practices.
