University Professorship in Romance Linguistics/Spanish
The Position
- Significant contribution to the linguistic offerings in the degree programs of the Department of Romance Studies in the entire range of Romance Linguistics (BA/MA teacher training programs in Spanish) as well as the interdisciplinary Master's program (Atlantic Studies/History, Society, Culture)
- Leading role in shaping the linguistic and cultural studies teaching for all degree programs; strategic and innovative development of Romance Linguistics, incorporating Cultural Studies and other interdisciplinary options
- Strong commitment to acquiring third-party funding and initiating research collaborations, particularly within the framework of the “Atlantic World” research focus
Your Profile
- Outstanding research achievements in Romance/ Hispanic linguistics, socio- and discourse linguistics as well as a further focus in the area of transatlantic entanglements (with Latin America and/or the Caribbean)
- High-ranking publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in the successful acquisition of third-party funding in individual procedures and/or the initiation of collaborative projects
- Use of modern socio- and discourse-linguistic methods in connection with current linguistic theory development
- Capacity and Commitment for collaboration with existing interdisciplinary and linguistic research at the Department of Romance Studies, the faculty of Humanities and the Leibniz University, in particular at the Center for Atlantic and Global Studies (CEAGS) within the framework of the faculty's research focus “Atlantic World”
- Ability to teach courses in German, Spanish and English
