The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for the following position of Salary Scale W3 NBesO, starting as soon as possible:
University Professorship in Semiconductor Technologies and PhotonicsThe professorship will encompass topics related to semiconductor devices and technology in research and teaching. It is associated with the direction of the Institute of Electronic Materials and Components. Based on the established infrastructure, the professorship aims to develop the technology necessary for microelectronics further and transfer it into new and related fields.
In collaboration with the Clusters of Excellence Phoenix
D and Quantum Frontiers at Leibniz University Hannover, you will have excellent opportunities for research in the field of Group IV photonics, wide bandgap semiconductors, and novel device concepts. Furthermore, the professorship will cooperate closely with the Leibniz Research Centers Laboratory for Nano and Quantum Engineering and Energy Research the field of energy research, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science has been working closely with the Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH) for many years.
The teaching tasks include relevant basic and advanced courses in the field of microelectronics and semiconductors for the degree programs of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, as well as other engineering degree programs offered in German and English.
Your ProfileYou possess an outstanding scientific background in semiconductor technologies and photonics. You are recognized nationally and internationally for your relevant research work on novel materials, devices, and technologies.
You have experience in applying for and processing top-level third-party funded projects and have already been actively involved in teaching and academic self-administration.
You are nationally and internationally acknowledged in at least one of the following research areas:
- Group IV photonics
- Wide bandgap semiconductors for power electronics and photonics
- Innovative semiconductor devices for energy-optimised machine learning
- Perovskite-based materials for thin-film transistors, memristors, light-emitting diodes, solar cells, and quantum computing
The qualifications and skills required to head an institute, such as management and leadership experience, as well as strong communication and cooperation skills, are expected. A sound knowledge of German and English is required for the advertised position. Selected courses are expected to be conducted in English.
