Location: Nelsonville
Site Manager for Robbins Crossing and the Hocking College Nature Center
Salary: $18.00 per hour
I. Position Purpose
Under direction from and in collaboration with the Program Manager of Park and Museum
Education, the acting site manager helps to ensure the successful operations and continued
success of the Hocking College Nature Center and Robbins Crossing Living History Village.
This is a year-round part-time position, with a maximum of 28 hours per week.
II. Duties and Responsibilities
Oversight of operations in both facilities
Management of grounds and facilities, including maintenance when possible
Providing excellent customer service to visitors
Oversight and management of inventory and sales at both sites, including ordering
of supplies when needed
Maintaining currently established partnerships and ties while also cultivating new
connections within the community and its surrounding areas
Volunteer acquisition and management
Records management and recording (as pertaining to animal care, financial records, etc.)
Interpretive and educational program management development, scheduling, evaluation,
and production
Create and develop new exhibits and ensure the quality of current exhibits
Providing and managing animal care of both facilities via proper
Practices, ensuring their overall health, safety, and quality of life.
Ensure compliance with all permitting
Ensure compliance with Hocking College policies and procedures
Assist with other administrative duties as assigned
III. Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills
Associate Degree in Natural Resources, Historical interpretation or related field required,
Bachelor Degree preferred.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong technology skills including usage of Microsoft Office, email, student information
system, and learning management system
Organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of subject area.
Knowledge of educational theory and application.
Knowledge of learners and individual learning styles.
Interest in and commitment to the learner-centered educational process.
Educational technology skills.
Confidentiality.
Caring attitude toward students.
Learning and self-motivation skills.
Willingness to extend self to help students succeed.
