ENGINEERING AND SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY INSTRUCTOR

Bridgeport Schools is moving forward with an innovative vision for the future of our students. In August of 2026, we will open The Bridge, our new 31,000 square foot addition to expand student educational opportunities and career pathways. We are seeking a dedicated, career focused Engineering and Science Technology Instructor to lead students and help connect students to real‑world experiences.

We will assist the selected candidate in the process to obtain the proper licensure that is required to hold and maintain the position.

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field
• Current licensure appropriate to the Engineering/Related Field or willingness to obtain such licensure
• Applicable Education Field, Engineering or Relevant Industry Experience
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to think futuristically
• Excellent communication skills
• Career-Technical teaching experience is preferred, but not required
• Ability to pass the required BCI and FBI background clearances
• Ability to build job shadowing experiences in collaboration with local Engineering/Manufacturing Businesses
• Instructional experience leading new learners
• Preferred qualifications in CAD software, 3D printing, Robotics and/or Drones

The selected candidate chosen for this once‑in‑a‑lifetime opportunity will have the unique ability to build and lead a program that prepares students for careers in engineering, manufacturing, robotics, drones, and related STEAM fields. One that will equip Bridgeport students with hands‑on Engineering skills while creating meaningful pathways and shadowing opportunities that lead to future employment or further education upon graduation from Bridgeport Schools.

• Professionals with non‑teaching degrees with at least 5-year's experience in the field of Engineering are also encouraged to apply. There is a pathway that we can help you obtain to gain your license.
• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
