You will be responsible for smooth running of lunchtime in school. You will prepare the dining hall, serve the children their food, supervise the children while they are eating and clear away afterwards.

The successful candidate will enjoy working with young children and will support pupils both in the dining hall and during outdoor playtimes. They will encourage positive behaviour, promote good manners and help children to develop independence and social skills.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Prepare the dining hall for lunchtime including setting up tables and chairs
  • Transfer the food into the hot trolley
  • Serve children their lunches taking account of any dietary requirements
  • Supervising children during lunchtime in the hall and playground
  • Supporting children with routines and behaviour expectations
  • Supervising children while they are eating their lunch
  • Encouraging safe, positive and inclusive play
  • Administering basic first aid where appropriate
  • Reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
  • Helping to maintain a safe and orderly environment at all times
