The Carey Exempted Village School District is seeking a passionate, student-centered educator to join our team as a K-12 Intervention Specialist / MTSS Coordinator beginning August 2026.
We are looking for an individual who is committed to improving outcomes for all learners through high-quality instruction, targeted interventions, collaborative problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making. This position provides an exciting opportunity to work directly with students while also supporting district-wide efforts related to intervention programming and the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Preferred Qualifications
* Valid Ohio K-12 Intervention Specialist teaching license or certificate preferred.
* Candidates with experience providing academic and/or behavioral interventions and supporting diverse learners will also be considered.
* Knowledge of evidence-based intervention strategies and specially designed instruction.
* Experience collecting, analyzing, and using student data to guide instructional decisions and intervention planning.
* Understanding of progress monitoring and data-based decision-making practices.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, teachers, administrators, and support staff.
* Proficiency with educational technology and technology integration in a 1:1 Chromebook environment.
Desired Leadership Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in:
* Facilitating teacher-based teams and collaborative problem-solving processes.
* Providing teacher leadership and instructional support.
* Leading discussions around student achievement and intervention planning.
* Supporting staff in analyzing student performance data and identifying instructional next steps.
* Developing systems that improve student outcomes through collaboration and continuous improvement.
Position Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
* Providing direct services and support to students with diverse learning needs.
* Collaborating with general education teachers to implement effective intervention strategies.
* Assisting in the development, implementation, and evaluation of district MTSS practices.
* Supporting universal screening, progress monitoring, and intervention processes.
* Leading and participating in data team meetings focused on student growth and achievement.
* Maintaining required documentation and meeting established timelines.
* Building positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
