Elementary IEP Aide

Bataan Elementary IEP Aide
(4 hours: 11:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m., Monday through Friday – School Days)

• Assist classroom and/or resource teacher with duties as requested, including supervising students during teacher‑released time, play‑ground, cafeteria, and transportation.
• Provide individualized or small‑group support for students with severe behavior issues.
• Assist in the supervision and management of special‑needs children.
• Help teacher create and reproduce instructional materials.
• Maintain a positive rapport with staff and students.
• Support office staff with filing and record‑keeping as needed.

• Meet federal "No Child Left Behind" standards:
  • Minimum of two years of post‑secondary study.
  • Associate’s degree for paraprofessionals.
  • Or meet a rigorous standard of quality demonstrated by a formal academic assessment.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues and maintain a positive attitude.
• Ability to perform light to moderate physical labor.
• Possess a certificate under O.R.C.  as an IEP aide.
• Demonstrate knowledge of first‑aid procedures and CPR/First aid for adults and children (online and in‑person skills test).
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Complete required training:
  • Child Abuse Prevention (online)
  • Medical statement signed by a qualified medical professional
  • Communicable disease training (online)
  • Orientation training (online)
  • Quality childcare training (online)
  • Overview of child development training (online)
  • Early Learning Assessment assistance training (in‑person)
  • Crisis Intervention Prevention training (in‑person)
  • Annual additional professional development
• Provide non‑conviction statement.
• Be able to perform the essential qualifications of the job as set forth in the position description.
