Adjunct Professor - Humanities

Central State invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in the Department of Humanities covering disciplines such as English, History, and Philosophy.

Position Summary: Teach courses necessary for the Humanities, including first- and second-year composition, undergraduate first-year success seminars, critical thinking, Introduction to African American history, and general education literature courses.

Teach assigned courses with effective instructional strategies, employ technology in instruction, advise and mentor students, and contribute to curriculum development and improvement.

• Doctoral or Master’s Degree in Philosophy, English literature, rhetoric and composition, American history, or a closely related field.
• Evidence of scholarship and teaching in the Humanities.

• Availability for in-person teaching at Central State University.
• Dedication to ensuring excellence in curriculum delivery, development, and improvement.
• Expertise in one of the following sub-fields: environmental humanities, legal studies, or medical humanities.
• Experience and interest in teaching students from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
• Ability to use technology in instruction and student advising.
• Commitment to the role of a comprehensive college in a multicultural setting.
• Evidence of the possession of qualities of character, personality, and competence expected in a teacher.
