Job Overview
Anticipated First Grade Teacher for 2026‑2027. The teacher will work at Everest Elementary in the Licking Heights School District, Blacklick, Ohio.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver high‑quality instruction that meets district curriculum goals and Ohio standards.
- Develop and maintain lesson plans, student records, and instructional materials.
- Administer and secure assessments, and use formative and summative data to guide instruction.
- Create and maintain a safe, organized, and student‑centered classroom environment.
- Provide individualized support, differentiated instruction, and consultative services to students.
- Communicate regularly with parents, colleagues, and administrators about student progress.
- Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and manage classroom duties assigned by the principal.
- Collaborate with district staff and support teachers on special education, curriculum, and student initiatives.
- Maintain record keeping, confidentiality, and compliance with district policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and stay current with best practices and technology in teaching.
- Passion for education and student well‑being.
- Effective mentoring and guidance for students.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Continuous learning and professional development.
- Forward‑thinking planning and strategic decision‑making.
- Openness to two‑way communication and community engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field from an accredited institution.
- State of Ohio teaching certification/license for the grade‑level requested.
- Demonstrated experience and/or certification that meets the “highly qualified” criteria set by the ODEW.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills.
- Background check in compliance with Ohio public‑school employment regulations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours if needed.
Teacher must maintain a record free of criminal violations that prohibit public school employment and embrace high‑performance standards (engagement, proficiency, resilience, etc.).
Position type:
