Interim Coordinator, Student Engagement and Leadership
Position Summary:
The Interim Coordinator will provide immediate, short‑term oversight and execution of student leadership initiatives that foster student engagement, support student well‑being, and promote engaged citizenship across all campus locations. This temporary role requires a high‑energy, positive professional who can step in seamlessly to maintain momentum in support of student leadership, success, and retention.
- Facilitate cross‑divisional leadership initiatives, including student leader recruitment, selection, and training;
Student Leader Kickoff; and ongoing professional development for student employees. - Coordinate student engagement and team‑building retreats, leadership workshops/facilitations as requested; assist with consultation for leadership facilitation/retreat services.
- Coordinate the Graduate Student Assembly.
- Co‑facilitate service‑learning and community engagement experiences for student groups and leaders.
- Support student organization planning of night/weekend programming.
- Assist in execution of larger campus events such as new student orientation, homecoming, and other campus events as needed.
- Support emotional well‑being and mental health programming, including awareness and prevention activities; integrate wellbeing into engagement leadership and programs.
- Perform other duties and special projects as requested by Assistant Deans and the Dean of Students.
- Bachelor’s degree required;
Master’s degree preferred. - Experience in residence life, student development, campus activities, event planning, and program oversight.
- Understanding of student life at a small private institution and a commitment to improving the lives of students.
- Sound judgment, tolerance for ambiguity, and commitment to the student affairs profession.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, antiracism, and inclusive communities.
- Strong customer service orientation and a student‑centered experience.
- Experience working with student affairs departments and campus at large to deliver activities, programs, and services.
- Knowledge of student development, project management, crisis management, counseling students, and/or communication with parents and families.
- Excellent organizational, oral, written, and online communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and demonstrate initiative and flexibility.
- High emotional intelligence, maturity, and interpersonal skills; sensitivity to the needs of a diverse student population.
Salary range: $22.00 per hour for a 35‑hour work week. Exact compensation based on candidate skills and experience.
