The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at The University of Toledo invites applications for a visiting assistant professor position which will start in August 2026 and may be renewed for up to three (3) full academic years.
This position entails teaching upper-level applied mathematics courses as well as foundational undergraduate mathematics courses that support programs in mathematics, science, education, and engineering.
Teaching responsibilities may include calculus, linear algebra, numerical analysis, discrete probability, mathematical modeling, and related applied mathematics courses.
The expected instructional assignment is between 24 and 30 credit hours per academic year.

- Master's degree in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a closely related field.
- Prior university-level teaching experience and demonstrated ability to teach applied mathematics courses.
- Strong pedagogical skills and ability to support students with varied preparation levels.
- Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics.
- Experience teaching applied mathematics classes.
