Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Arts and Sciences, performs the following functions:
Duties and Responsibilities- Provides instructional services: assists with development of course outcomes and curriculum consistent with Academic Affairs, the department, and technology/program goals; conveys course outcomes and expectations to students according to college policy; organizes and manages instructional activities; uses appropriate learner‑centered instructional methods; provides evaluation methods appropriate to stated outcomes; evaluates student learning fairly; posts and maintains sufficient office hours; maintains accurate records of evaluation and coursework;
submits grades on time; seeks feedback on course delivery and student learning; participates in the college evaluation system of instructional services; revises/upgrades courses regularly and contributes to assessment of student academic achievement; works cooperatively with others to accomplish departmental and technology goals; maintains a safe working area and conditions.
- Master’s Degree in area of study or related field preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 18 semester credit hours of graduate coursework relevant to the discipline.
- Degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent as verified by a credential evaluation service.
- Evidence of professional development in the field of concentration as demonstrated by activity in professional associations, consultative practice, participation in seminars, workshops, formal coursework, and individual reading and research.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong technology skills including use of email, student information system, and learning management system.
- Organizational, record‑keeping, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of subject area.
- Knowledge of educational theory and application.
- Knowledge of learners and individual learning styles.
- Interest in and commitment to the learner‑centered educational process.
