Preschool Attendant

The Logan-Hocking School District is seeking a 4-day, 6.5-hour shared preschool attendant at Green Elementary. The shift time is from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Tuesday through Friday. The position requires an associate's degree, though a high school diploma or GED is acceptable. The candidate must hold a valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit as defined in section  of the O.R.C. Additional requirements include completing a non-guilt/non-conviction statement, Ohio Department of Education BCI & FBI, an Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Associates (OCCRRA) account, Department of Job and Family Services BCI & FBI, and a medical statement before the first day of employment.

Within the first 30 days of employment, candidates must complete CPR First Aid, OCCRRA orientation for new staff, communicable disease training, child abuse training, 10 hours of OCCRRA training yearly, and obtain an Ohio Professional Registry on The Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association, meeting all Step Up To Quality mandates. Candidates must also successfully complete and meet any new standards/rules as defined in , O.R.C. and complete CPI Restraint Training upon request.

The job goal is to assist in the educational and social development of students under the direction and guidance of classroom teachers, implement Individual Education Plans, provide support for individual students, work with other professionals, assist classroom teachers with maintaining student records, support students with emotional or behavioral concerns, and help with toileting, feeding, and hygiene needs of students if necessary.

General aide duties when the student is absent. Other duties as assigned.
