Under general supervision of the School Principal, facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district‑approved curriculum; document teaching and student progress; address specific educational needs; create a flexible, safe, and optimal learning environment; provide feedback to students, parents, and administration about progress, expectations, and goals.
Essential Functions- Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with district goals and objectives.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate plans into learning experiences.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to fit individual needs, including students with special needs.
- Instruct students in responsible citizenship and other subject matters as specified by applicable laws and regulations.
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate record‑keeping, grading, and reporting.
- Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication.
- Ensure student conduct conforms with school standards and district policies.
- Coordinate with other professional staff to evaluate curriculum and participate in meetings.
- Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, and supplies; maintain inventory records.
- Supervise students in activities outside the classroom during the school day.
- Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs.
Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators.
EquipmentUse standard office equipment such as personal computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and telephone.
Travel RequirementsTravel to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy; differentiate instruction based on learning styles.
- Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation for professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Work in standard office and school building environments.
Qualifications Profile- Ohio State Certification as a Grade 4‑7 Teacher.
- Ohio State Certification in appropriate grade level preferred.
