The Director of Natural Resources Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice serves as the academic administrator for two academic programs. Under the guidance and direction of the Dean of the School of Natural Resources, this position performs in alignment with the College’s mission and strategic direction in service to students and their success.

• Academic Administrative Duties: Responsible for the general administration of Hocking College’s Natural Resources Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice academic programs; recruitment and enrollment of students in both programs; conduct regular review of the academic programs to maximize accreditation opportunities; ensure course fees support the sustainability of the program; collaborate with advisory boards for continuous quality improvement; provide effective day‑to‑day management and administration;
  
  supervise all faculty and coordinate adjunct assignments including evaluations; plan and oversee professional development for program faculty; manage course schedules and assist faculty with student issues; communicate college policies and ensure they are followed; manage grant funding as needed; engage in Academic Affairs and institutional activities; serve on committees assigned by the Dean; represent the program to prospective students; work with Career Technical Centers and secondary schools to develop articulation agreements;
  
  collaborate with the marketing department to develop materials that promote the program (publications, web page, annual report).
• Teaching and Advising: Develop and maintain relevant curriculum ensuring student employability upon program completion; maintain required credit hours of teaching load per term; work with students and faculty to resolve conflicts and serve as the second step in grade appeals; drive student involvement in the advising process, maintain sufficient advising hours compatible with student schedules; advise students struggling with coursework; maintain confidentiality;
  
  evaluate graduation progress and completions; supervise program advisors; manage student files including applications; keep track of student progress across disciplines; review graduation applications prior to final approval by the Dean; act as lead liaison for practicum sites for the program.
• Manage Learning Laboratories and Entrepreneurial Ventures: Identify entrepreneurial ventures aligned with curriculum and course outcomes; manage Lake Snowden Recreation Site operations; identify and secure grant funds or private contracts for Criminal Justice and other ventures; manage purchasing, budgeting, staff, and programming at relevant facilities; promote and publicize programs and opportunities to the public; coordinate with faculty and staff regarding use of facilities;
  
  integrate entrepreneurial ventures into teaching and practicum experiences; seek partnerships for facility maintenance and restoration, including grant and college self‑performance on projects.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Wildlife Management, Natural Resources,  Enforcement, or closely related field required;
  Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 2 years of full‑time, professional, field experience in Natural Resources Management or Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement.
• Training/knowledge:
  Directly related coursework including, but not limited to, Handgun Safety and Proficiency;
  Fitness;
  Information Technology;
  Criminal Law;
  Forensic Science (Collection and Preservation of Evidence);
  Management and Operations;
  Administration and Management;
  Evidence of professional development in the field of concentration (professional associations, seminars, workshops, formal coursework).
