Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program Director

The University of Rio Grande / Rio Grande Community College announces an immediate opening in the School of Allied Health & Exercise Studies for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) Program Director position, at the Instructor rank, beginning the fall semester of the  academic year. In addition to Program Director duties, this position will teach a minimum of 30 load hours in the academic year and 9 load hours in the summer with advising duties.

Responsibilities:

• The structure and daily operation of the program
• The organization, administration, periodic review and evaluation, continued development, and effectiveness of program curricula
• Ensuring the effectiveness of all clinical affiliates is maintained.
• Providing instruction, evaluation of students, documentation of progress, and periodic review of course content

Required Qualifications:

• Earned baccalaureate degree
• Possess the appropriate credential(s) specific to one or more of the concentration(s) offered
• Documented experience in supervision, instruction, evaluation, student guidance and in educational theories and techniques
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a registered sonographer in the professional sonography field

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree
• Prior teaching experience
