Part-Time Cosmetology Instructor
Provide instruction to ensure that students meet learning objectives and standards for the appropriate content.
Implement the WV Schools of Diversion and Transition approved program of study. Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning. Utilize instructional techniques and methods which increase student learning. Monitor student progress toward mastery of instructional goals and objectives. Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs. Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress. Meet professional responsibilities.
Comply with host agency's policies and procedures. Work cooperatively with host agency staff to ensure a safe and secure environment and the integration of treatment and educational goals. Maintains appropriate tool control utilizing proper inventory and security of all tools, equipment, and consumable supplies. Perform other duties as assigned by principal/lead teacher.
Qualifies for or holds West Virginia Career and Technical Education Licensure, as required under State Board of Education Policy 5202. Documented minimum of two years of relevant experience in the endorsement area. Experience types may be combined to satisfy the two-year requirement. Verification must be submitted using a district approval form. Experience may be obtained through one or more of the following:
Industry experience in the endorsement field. Teaching experience in the endorsement area (while properly certified). Relevant postsecondary coursework in the endorsement area. When this option is used, a bachelor's degree is required. Cosmetologist & Instructor License issued by the WV Board of Barbers & Cosmetologists.
