Job DescriptionLearning Objectives:
- Facilitate collaborative review sessions. Lead weekly, interactive small-group sessions that help students process and master already-assigned course content, without re-lecturing.
- Integrate study skills into content review. Weave learning strategies, organizational techniques, and test-preparation skills directly into session activities.
- Foster an inclusive, low-stakes learning environment. Create a safe, informal, peer-led space where students feel comfortable asking questions and practicing new skills.
- Apply active-learning facilitation techniques. Use questioning and group-facilitation strategies that promote peer-to-peer problem-solving and collaboration, rather than supplying direct answers.
- Successful completion of 1 term;
* currently enrolled; - Consistently maintain 6 credit hours each semester;
- Maintain 3.0 GPA;
- Adhere to College’s confidentiality policy;
- Successfully pass background/drug screening;
- Prior enrollment with professor (required);
- MUST have completed selected course with a B or higher (required);
- Demonstrate content competency in subject area;
- Completion of SI Leadership training;
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
- Conduct 2-3, 50 minute study sessions per week to support student understanding of course content, clarify assignments, and develop study strategies;
- Assist students in strengthening study skills, time management, critical thinking, and learning strategies;
- Encourage collaborative learning, active student engagement;
- MUST meet with faculty weekly to discuss and provide feedback on student progress and plan effective study sessions;
- Maintain accurate records of study sessions;
- Work collaboratively with the Tutoring Coordinator or Tutoring Supervisor to promote tutoring and academic support services to student
- Model appropriate academic behaviors, professionalism, and student success strategies;
