Job Description SUPPLEMENTAL POSITION(S) AVAILABLE  SCHOOL YEAR:
Loveland High School LHS Drama Musical Director

Fall production

SALARY:

Commensurate with salary schedules

Fine Arts $1,159.50

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Assists the drama director with planning, organizing and directing the high school drama activities, programs and productions by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists the drama director with selecting the plays and musicals suitable for students in grade nine through twelve.
  • Assists with the coordinating and judging tryouts of musicians for the drama club.
  • Supervises and director musicians during rehearsal and performances of the Loveland High School musical production.
  • Supervises and advises students and volunteer adults for the pit band.
  • Helps organize students during rehearsals and productions.
  • Works with director, set designer, set builder, choreographer and parent volunteers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises students of particular program and applicable assistants.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Training and Experience Preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, parents or employees of the district. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from students, parents, agencies, teachers or members of the school community.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid certificate/license as issued by the Ohio Department of Education

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Exhibit qualities of leadership and organizational ability and reflect a spirit of cooperation in working with staff and school administration. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements, Board of Education policies and state athletic association by-laws.
