Kenyon College is conducting a search for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Senior Associate Director of Alumni Career Connections. The Senior Associate Director of Alumni Career Connections co-reports to the Director of Alumni Engagement and the Dean of the Career Development Office (CDO). This role will direct the mentorship and alumni connections unit within the CDO and be responsible for executing the overall volunteerism and mentorship strategy related to careers and experiential education.

Functions
  • Coordinate all Kenyon alumni career-related volunteer activities in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Engagement and Career Development Office.
  • Oversee the Expert in Residence Program.
  • Maintain accurate records in the SLATE Advancement database.
  • Help coordinate alumni involvement with the “Kenyon City” programs associated with the Kenyon Keys.
  • Recruit hosts for the job shadow and externship programs in conjunction with the Career Development Office.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Employer Relations in the CDO to plan and execute career treks during Kenyon academic breaks to popular destinations among students.
  • Connect students 1:1 with alumni mentors, establishing clear expectations and structure for successful mentoring relationships.
  • Work with the Experiential Learning (EL) committee to embed job shadow and externships in the tracking and reflection mechanisms of the ELR.
  • Manage the administration of the “Just Ask”
  • Distribute the annual Kenyon Candidates resume books to alumni in conjunction with Advancement Communications
  • Work closely with the Director of Employer Partnerships and Director of Internships to create a unified communication strategy to alumni, parents, and employers regarding career engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate on-campus skill-based competitions with alumni as judges.
  • Potentially create a homestay program to complement the Job Shadow Program.

  • Is adept and diplomatic in dealing with both internal and external constituents.
  • Possess strong organizational skills.
  • Is flexible, self-motivated and has a strong sense of initiative.
  • Pay strict attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective in supervising other employees and understanding the shifting needs of the work day during the course of the year.
Working Conditions
  • Work is generally performed in an office environment.
  • Ability to lift boxes or items up to 30 pounds or less is needed.
  • Hybrid schedule (remote/in-office) is possible but not guaranteed.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong skills in oral and written communication.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
