About the Role

Dedicated School Staffing proudly services Springfield Local Schools staffing needs. We are currently recruiting for a Behavioral Technician working one-on-one students with special needs and providing behavior interventions and daily living skills. Previous work experience with school aged children is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct instruction to student(s), implementing all recommended behavior/treatment plans/program curriculum
• Record legibly accurate data on all behavior/treatment plans
• Assists the teacher and/or independently instructs students within small assigned groups or individually, making appropriate adaptations and modifications in academic, social, vocational, and survival skills.
• Works with students to maintain appropriate behavior in classroom settings using behavioral modification techniques.
• Assists the teacher with informal student assessment, prepares IEP report cards, activity record, charting, and Discrete Trial Program in a special setting.
• May monitor class for a short period of time in the absence of the teacher.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent. A Bachelor's or Associates Degree (in any field of study) is preferred
  • * Applicants that do not have a bachelor's degree or associate's degree, or at least two years of study (defined as 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours) at an accredited college or University, will be required to pass a paraprofessional test.)
• Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations)
• Clean criminal background checks
• Ability to follow teacher direction, adapt to student needs, and remain patient and calm
• Flexibility, empathy, and a commitment to student growth
• Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
• Physical ability to support students who may require lifting, mobility assistance, or crisis intervention
• Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
• Clean criminal background.
• Three (3) positive professional references.
• Experience working with school aged children who have special needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher
• Experience working with children, especially those with disabilities
• Familiarity with intervention strategies, behavior supports, or small-group instruction
• Additional training or certification in education or child development
