WhatYou'll Do
As a Shoe Technician, you are responsible for developing, adjusting, and optimizing shoe models – with a focus on uppers. You work closely with design, product management, and production teams to transform creative ideas into technically and functionally refined products.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop, adjust, and maintain shoe models with a focus on uppers
- Translate design and construction requirements into functional prototypes and models
- Collaborate closely with design, product management, and production throughout the entire development process
- Create digital and manual models (using CAD systems and traditional craftsmanship)
- Optimize existing models in terms of fit, functionality, and manufacturability
- Take responsibility for sample and prototype development, including technical implementation and quality checks
- Prepare technical documentation and coordinate with national and international production sites
- Completed education as a shoe model maker, shoe technician, or a comparable qualification
- Several years of professional experience in shoe development, ideally in the outdoor or sports footwear sector
- Solid knowledge of model design, last development, and materials science
- Confident handling of CAD systems (e.g. PROCAM Dimensions or similar software)
- Strong craftsmanship skills, spatial awareness, and a good sense of proportions
- Team spirit, initiative, and a structured, solution-oriented way of working
- Good command of English (spoken and written) for communication with international partners
- Fluency in German (B2–C1) is fundamental
