Job Summary

We have an immediate opening for a Combustion Turbine Specialist located in Luckey, Ohio. Training will be provided by web‑based programs, self‑paced curriculum, and hands‑on experience. The primary function is to support operations and maintenance of a simple cycle dual‑fuel combustion turbine and its associated systems.

Responsibilities
  • Learn and operate plant systems under direction of plant staff; includes fundamentals, advanced theory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Operate turbine‑generators and auxiliaries for start‑up, normal operation, and shutdown; observe and record indicators.
  • Prepare plant statistical reports, assist with capital budgets, maintain configuration drawings, databases, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in safety tagging, record maintenance, and ensure regulatory and environmental compliance.
  • Recommend improvements of plant performance and safety.
  • Operate equipment such as vehicles, cranes, hoists, welding, and cutting tools as required.
  • Inspect, test, troubleshoot, service, repair, calibrate, and install control instruments and associated circuitry.
  • Develop and conduct the predictive maintenance program; administer inventory control; conduct performance evaluations.
  • Assist with training packages for new technicians.
  • Perform tests, calibrations, and repairs to instrumentation, including environmental protection equipment.
  • Handle electrical maintenance duties such as wiring, motor replacement, and component testing.
  • Install, test, remove, and replace motors, generators, rotating equipment, and auxiliary devices.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance on plant equipment, structures, and buildings; perform welding, brazing, cutting.
  • Use appropriate safety equipment and techniques daily.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring, and schematic diagrams; perform switching and tagging.
  • Update station logs; complete procurement documents.
  • Arrange fuel transfer and receipt as needed.
  • Comply with regulations and safety protocols.
  • Facilitate information turnover between shifts or projects.
  • Maintain high standards of safety.
  • Work as a team member with Troy Energy staff and cooperate on plant goals.
  • Comply with all IPSC policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with electric generating equipment and turbine generators is desired but not mandatory.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurable by company insurance carrier.

  • Proficiency with computer‑based productivity tools relevant to plant operations, including CMMS, maintenance logs, and procurement systems.
  • Availability for plant emergencies or call‑ins (days or nights, weekends, holidays).
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
Work Environment and

Physical Requirements
  • Work may be performed indoors (60%) and outdoors (40%).
  • Noise level moderate to high; weather exposure common.
  • Physical demands: standing, walking, balancing, climbing stairs/ladders, stooping, squatting, reaching, pulling, lifting up to 50 lbs, operating in confined spaces, working at heights, wearing PPE, passing respirator fit test.
  • Requirements for eyesight and attendance as stated.
Compensation and Benefits

Base salary range: $112,720 – $169,080. Additional rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards. Benefits may include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), and flexible spending accounts.
