Location: Quincy

Ethos Energy O&M is recruiting for an Operations Site Technician for its Clearview Solar site located in Quincy, OH. The Operations Site Technician is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of the solar facility. Core duties include conducting regular inspections of equipment, facilities, safety systems, and environmental conditions, as well as performing or coordinating all manufacturer-recommended preventive maintenance activities.

This role also involves troubleshooting and repairing site equipment as issues arise to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance. Key areas of accountability include safety compliance, maintenance scheduling, and effective resolution of technical issues.

Job Responsibilities
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Promote and uphold the company's safety culture by following all safety policies and encouraging safe practices among all onsite personnel and contractors.
  • Complete pre-job briefs and required safety documentation before starting any task.
  • Support all NERC, environmental, and corporate compliance requirements, including daily, monthly, bi-annual, and annual reporting.
  • Ensure all waste handling and disposal complies with federal, state, and local regulations.

    Operations and Maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain solar facility equipment including inverters, transformers, and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Plan and schedule both corrective and preventive maintenance activities with the Solar Manager.
  • Coordinate major maintenance activities to minimize downtime and revenue loss.
  • Execute daily site monitoring and respond promptly to alarms or production issues.

    Administration and Reporting
  • Accurately record all work performed in the company's CMMS platform.
  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and monthly operational reports, including availability and production data.
  • Participate in remote weekend monitoring rotations for self-operated sites.
  • Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with internal departments to share site data, support projects, and resolve issues.
  • Communicate as needed with external agencies, contractors, and landowners.
  • Assist with the initiation and follow-up of insurance claims related to site operations.
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • Direct experience with Sungrow 3600 UD-MV inverters, including routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and component replacement.
  • Familiarity with Game Change Genius Tracker systems (2.0/3.0), including troubleshooting of motors, controllers, and communication nodes.
  • Experience working on medium-voltage (up to 34.5 kV) distribution systems and performing lockout/tagout and switching procedures.
  • Background supporting NERC compliance activities, environmental inspections, and corporate O&M reporting.
  • Understanding of plant performance analytics, production reporting, and preventive maintenance planning to support site availability and revenue targets.
  • Prior exposure to vendor coordination, landowner communication, and contractor oversight in a solar operations environment.
Experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in utility-scale solar operations and maintenance, industrial electrical systems, or power generation.
  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining high-voltage equipment, including inverters, transformers, switch gear, and tracker systems.
  • Proficient in using SCADA for system monitoring and CMMS platforms for documenting preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Skilled with electrical testing and diagnostic tools such as multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and infrared cameras.
  • Demonstrated adherence to OSHA 1910, NFPA 70E, and environmental compliance standards.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or trade school training in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy systems preferred.
  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks such as climbing ladders, working on elevated platforms, and lifting tools or components.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions including heat, cold, and wind.
  • Capable of standing, walking, or kneeling for extended periods.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally between sites and participate in on-call or weekend rotations.
