Senior Data Engineer

Overview

I’m partnered with a firm that has been delivering complex engineering solutions for over five decades, combining strong commercial performance with a deeply technical culture. They are now hiring a Senior Data Engineer to strengthen their data delivery teams.

• You’ll build and operate cloud-native data pipelines on Azure and Databricks, covering batch and streaming ingestion, Spark-based processing and production-grade orchestration.
• You’ll work closely with data architects and data scientists, contributing directly to performance, reliability and cost efficiency. Projects are delivered in small teams of 5–10 people, so your work has visible impact.

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering. You’ve built ETL and ELT pipelines in production, understand distributed data processing and are comfortable working with Python, PySpark and SQL. Experience with Databricks is mandatory.

• Build and optimise Spark-based data pipelines on Databricks
• Implement ingestion, transformation and data modelling patterns
• Tune performance, cost and reliability of production pipelines
• Support ML workloads through robust data foundations
• Work closely with architects on platform-level decisions

• German fluency is mandatory.
• Hybrid in Germany across multiple locations.
