About the role
Our clients are hiring an Energy Specialist – Metering to lead and strengthen metering performance across a large, geographically diverse EMEA data centre portfolio. This is a global role liaising with the team in APAC, EMEA, India, UK, America, etc. It is a strategic and high‑impact role within a mission‑critical environment. You will take ownership of metering governance, data integrity, and performance transparency—ensuring that energy, water, and fuel data is accurate, automated, and aligned with sustainability and compliance objectives.
Operating across multiple countries, you will collaborate closely with site managers, engineering teams, and sustainability stakeholders to implement consistent standards and unlock measurable efficiency improvements.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Conducting structured annual metering reviews across electricity, heat/cooling, fuel, and water systems.
- Developing and maintaining clear meter mapping, documentation, and operational standards.
- Ensuring accuracy, availability, and automated capture of metering data via BMS and control systems.
- Driving issue resolution and accountability across sites and stakeholders.
- Supporting ISO
50001, EN50600, ESOS, and other compliance frameworks. - Building financial justifications for metering enhancements and optimisation initiatives.
- Governing calibration, validation, and verification processes across the estate.
- Delivering actionable insights for reporting, dashboards, and capital planning cycles.
We are looking for a professional who brings:
- Strong experience in metering systems (electrical, thermal, water) within multi‑site or critical environments.
- Proven capability in implementing or governing metering strategy at the portfolio level.
- Solid understanding of energy compliance and certification frameworks.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex datasets into clear executive insights.
- Experience in Measurement & Verification (IPMVP advantageous).
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills across multinational teams.
- Fluency in English and German.
This role is technically demanding and requires precision, structure, and ownership. In return, it offers autonomy, international exposure, and the opportunity to shape sustainability performance across a growing and technically sophisticated infrastructure portfolio.
If you are motivated by complexity, responsibility, and measurable impact, this position offers a compelling next step in your career.
We are NOT looking for an Energy Project specialist. This is a full‑time Energy Metering Specialist, someone who is technically minded. We would like to speak with a candidate who comes from a purely engineering background, perhaps from another sector such as production, nuclear, manufacturing, oil and gas, power generation, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, etc.
