Civil Engineer – Part-Time | Project-Based | Remote-Hybrid

Pay: $50–$65/hour based on experience and education

Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer for flexible, part-time, project-based work—ideal for retired engineers, consultants, or professionals looking to supplement their income. Most work can be completed remotely; however, some projects require a Northeast Ohio resident due to local site knowledge or occasional in-person coordination. Other projects may be completed from anywhere in the U.S.

This role is perfect for a self-driven professional who thrives working independently and can manage projects with minimal oversight.

Support a variety of municipal and public-sector projects, including:

• Parks and recreation infrastructure
• Sewer and water systems
• Public buildings and school facilities
• HVAC, plumbing, and piping systems
• Water treatment plants, pumps, and related systems (including CAS/Revet services)
• Review plans, technical documents, and project specifications
• Provide engineering insight, problem-solving, and recommendations
• Collaborate remotely with project stakeholders as needed

• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience in construction, civil, or municipal projects (degree preferred but not required with relevant experience)
• Strong knowledge of water/sewer infrastructure, public works, and mechanical systems
• Experience with water treatment facilities and pump systems highly desirable
• Self-starter mindset with strong communication skills
• Positive, professional attitude and ability to work independently
