Quality Metallurgist

Job Summary

Full time-Direct hire Quality Metallurgist for a client local to the Delta, OH area. Client is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer with a metals background with prior experience working on the plant floor. Bachelors degree related to Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering. Base salary + bonus and a career path. Tremendous work culture and full benefits, 401 K.

• Investigate current production and quality problems, determine appropriate solutions, and make recommendations for correction.
• Verify quality practices and product reliability both internally and externally.
• Conduct quality meetings with operating and quality assurance personnel and initiate and monitor Statistical Process Control programs[MJ1].
• Assist operations and make recommendations that will increase production or reduce costs.[MJ2]
• Make recommendations for new or developed technology that will improve quality and/or be cost effective.
• Maintain appropriate records of programs and compile technical reports pertaining to quality investigations and activities.
• Investigate causes of process failure and present findings to senior facility management.
• Participate in the suspension and operation of the labs to maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 lab standard.
• Establish, maintain, and monitor standard operating procedures.

• Work in a smoke free environment.
• Wear steel toe shoes.
• Work in a non-temperature controlled environment.
• Stand for 4 hours at a time.
