- Drive optimal technical field service and engineering support with GEA’s global 2nd level support team Core Technology Centers (CTCs), the OEMs of GEA Pharma.
- Support the design, development and implementation of unique mechanical and automation upgrades, and add-ons to address customers’ evolving process needs.
- Work in alignment with management within the Ticket system for technical support in the region.
- Liaise with engineering colleagues in the US and CTCs on process, electrical, PLC documentation, mechanical upgrades, and other technical matters.
- Diagnose and specify faults, suggest remedial measures, coordinate, and carry out remedial actions.
- Document support requests and actions with detailed written service reports following date‑driven processes and procedures.
- Collect, record, and transcribe data within CRM and other systems for service actions and quality records.
- Perform mechanical checkout of equipment and coordinate overall startup activities for upgrade projects.
- Contribute to the team effort by completing all tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Engage and support, and help lead FAT, SAT and site services for installation and commissioning of new equipment sales.
- Support Field Service and other job duties as required.
- Assist with workload from the Service Director, where necessary.
- Attend technical meetings and seminars as requested.
- Provide technical advice for service sales in Pharma, representing the company in a professional manner.
- Provide technical support to troubleshoot problems with new and existing plants.
- Obtain technical assistance and collaborate with other departments for more complicated applications and solutions.
- Listen carefully, contribute own opinions in a constructive manner.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
- 5+ years of directly related experience in a role demonstrating high success and SME status in service, installation and commissioning of Pharma OSD equipment.
- Strong technical support skills across the full E2E process from design through installation and aftermarket support.
- Experience with remote support, strong communication skills, and the tools necessary to solve problems effectively.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical processing equipment, FDA regulations and standards such as cGMP, ISPE, USP, etc.
- OSHA 10 training and basic certification.
- Analytical capabilities and problem‑solving skills with the ability to think and offer solutions to customer issues quickly.
- Strong customer/market orientation with commitment to fast customer responses.
- Adaptability to changes in assignments and priorities.
- Ability to collaborate with dynamic and diverse teams.
- Track record of successes in Batch, Granulation, Tablet presses within the pharmaceutical industry.
