You will join a robotics and autonomous systems programme focused on deploying ML-driven perception and decision-making models onto real-world robotic platforms operating in production environments.
The programme is moving beyond experimentation and PoCs, with a strong emphasis on production-grade ML, edge deployment, and robustness under real-world constraints such as latency, compute limits, and sensor noise.
Key Responsibilities- Design, train, and iterate on machine learning models for robotic perception, including object detection, segmentation, and tracking
- Deploy and maintain ML models on edge devices operating within robotic or autonomous platforms
- Optimise inference performance to meet latency, throughput, and compute constraints
- Evaluate and improve model performance using real-world sensor data
- Collaborate with autonomy, robotics, and systems teams to integrate ML outputs into downstream decision‑making pipelines
- Support post‑deployment monitoring and continuous model improvement
- Strong hands‑on experience with Python and PyTorch or Tensor Flow
- Proven experience deploying ML models into production environments (beyond notebooks or research prototypes)
- Practical experience applying computer vision or multimodal ML to real-world data
- Solid understanding of ML trade‑offs, including accuracy vs latency, model size, and compute efficiency
- Experience working in environments where ML models interact with physical systems
Python, PyTorch or Tensor Flow, Computer Vision, Edge ML (ONNX / Tensor
RT / OpenVINO), ROS2 (nice to have), LiDAR / depth / IMU (nice to have)
