Product Engineer

Job Description Summary

The Product Engineer is responsible for transforming innovative ideas and concepts into creative and functional new products that satisfy customer needs. The Product Engineer provides product engineering support across assigned product portfolios to ensure functionality and that schedule, quality, and cost objectives are met. The Product Engineer reports to the Product Engineering Manager.

• The duties and responsibilities of the Product Engineer include, but are not limited to:
• Define new product concepts
• Assist in the development of new product protocols
• Assist with the development of product design and functionality, including:
  • 3D solid model design work
  • Specification of materials
  • FEA analysis
  • Testing programs
• Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified products
• Implement product designs within schedule and budget parameters
• Analyze risks associated with new designs or processes and communicate results
• Provide manufacturing support to ensure products are fabricated and assembled according to intended design functionality
• Develop and maintain procedures and processes that support business requirements
• Collaborate with internal teams and customers to determine needs and solutions
• Generate effective written and verbal communication to support, execute, and document project activities
• Maintain records for patent and intellectual property protection
• Initiate and review cost estimates, drawings, and Engineering Change Notices/Engineering Change Orders (ECN/ECO) associated with assigned projects
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Minimum 2 years of experience in product engineering, or a combination of education and experience that meets the responsibilities listed above

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience designing in a 3D solid modeling environment
• Organizational Skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
• Strong problem-solving capabilities

• Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information

• 5+ years of product engineering experience
• Advanced degree in Engineering
• Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam passed
• Lean Six Sigma certification
• Experience with Solid Works and AutoCAD
