Summary

The Factory Automation Equipment Engineer II supports the breakdown of equipment, improves equipment for program and design to increase overall efficiency and productivity, and provides education for controls with plant to distribute company base knowledge for company specific equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Installation schedule management, maintenance, and performance enhancement of Factory Automation Equipment [e.g., AS/RS, Stocker crane, Conveyor system, AGV, Overhead Shuttle, etc]
  • Applies engineering techniques to install, modify, analyze, repair and test tools, engines, machines, and other mechanically functioning equipment.
  • Investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
  • Researches and analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.
  • Provides technical assistance in installation and maintenance of company equipment. Performs equipment upgrades as per customer requirements.
  • Communicates with vendors to solve complex problems by identifying and evaluating alternatives to provide support.
  • Acts as primary contact for equipment performance related questions and concerns.
  • Works with engineers and operators to troubleshoot the machines on the production floor to improve equipment performance.
  • Improves production processes by creating various SOPs and training technicians to ensure understanding and correct implementation on the floor.
  • Analyzes equipment alarms through data analysis program to improve the equipment performance.
  • Maintains communication between department co‑workers and manages production flow from one process to the next.
  • Prepares and participates in daily/weekly/monthly meetings with other teams.
  • Installs new technology to line (e.g., installation of lasers, sensors, etc).
  • Trains other engineers with shared responsibilities.
  • Completes daily documentation and audits, as required by position.
  • Follows established work instructions.
  • Adheres to safety requirements at all times, including the use of proper PPE.
  • Adheres to general and position‑specific dress code requirements.
  • Participates in, and successfully completes, any and all training requirements.
  • Maintains regular and reliable on‑site attendance.
  • Maintains cleanliness at work‑site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain.
  • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent related experience.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in manufacturing related job or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience installing, modifying, analyzing, repairing and testing tools, machines, and other equipment.
  • Experience analyzing equipment breakdown data.
  • Experience with corrective actions.
  • English / Korean Bilinguals preferred.
Skills
