As a member of the Integration Facility, the Engineering Technician will perform receiving, RMA, maintenance, and repair of various networking and telecommunication systems, cabling, and other related equipment. This includes working with Intraplex multiplexers, ADS‑B Radio systems, and configuring CISCO and other networking equipment to be installed in the FAA’s FTI, ADS‑B, MFN‑2, and DCNS networks.
Essential Functions- Responsible for the test, diagnosis, repair, configuration and preventative maintenance of network equipment, telecommunications equipment, and/or computers for systems that support the FAA’s ADS‑B and FTI networks.
- Troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair RF and computer systems.
- Operation and testing with various pieces of electronic test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, RF generators, VIAVI 5800, and Tempo Datascout.
- Construction of new radio cabinets as required.
- Terminate and manufacture custom DC power and data cable assemblies (RJ‑11, RJ‑45, DB‑25).
- Communicate with vendors to perform RMA of equipment for repair.
- Maintain records on repairs, changes, and updates in homegrown database systems.
- Read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Communicate with program management team for updates to processes, procedures, and documentation for performing integration, test, and assembly.
- Maintain a safe clean work area utilizing principles of 5S.
- Ability to obtain a FAA Public Trust Security Clearance.
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑Secondary/Associate’s Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
- Military training or trade school program in electronics or IT systems is a plus.
- High level of initiative and willingness to learn.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
