Position OverviewWe are seeking a high‑caliber Procurement Manager with strong technical expertise in turbocharger and rotating engine components, as well as established connections within regional supplier networks. This role is critical to supporting the development and production of advanced jet engine systems for defense applications.
A key success factor in this role is an existing, well‑developed network of qualified local suppliers (Ohio/Midwest region), enabling rapid sourcing, supplier engagement, and supply chain agility.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Sourcing & Procurement Leadership- Develop sourcing strategies for critical engine and turbocharger components
- Leverage existing local and regional supplier relationships to accelerate sourcing and reduce lead times
- Identify and onboard new suppliers within the Midwest manufacturing ecosystem
- Lead RFQs, negotiations, and long‑term agreements
- Act as a technical interface (in collaboration with engineering) between internal teams and suppliers
- Lead design‑to‑cost and value engineering initiatives
- Assess supplier capabilities in precision machining, casting, and advanced materials
- Utilize and expand a strong, pre‑existing local supplier network in:
- Precision machining
- High‑temperature alloys
- Aerospace‑grade manufacturing
- Develop strategic partnerships with regional suppliers for rapid response and innovation
- Strengthen local sourcing footprint to support resiliency and defense program requirements
- Preferably experienced with compliance standards including:
- AS9100 / aerospace standards
- IATF 16949 (automotive)
- ITAR / EAR regulations
- Conduct supplier screening, audits, performance tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Resolve supply chain challenges in a highly regulated, mission‑critical environment
- 7–10+ years in strategic sourcing or procurement
- Strong experience with turbochargers, rotating components, or propulsion systems
- Established supplier network in Ohio / Midwest is highly preferred and strongly weighted
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or automotive industries
- Strong local market intelligence and supplier relationships
