Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a
** Metallurgical Technician
** position at a multinational advanced materials company in Elmore, OH.
The Metallurgical Technician position prepares test samples, performs metallurgical testing, completes analysis and reports results on a variety of materials using defined processes and techniques. Depending on the area assigned, the position may include the use of Optical Microscopy, Tensile Testers, Hardness Testers, and CTE equipment.
_You will have the opportunity to:_
+ Proficient and able to train Technician B operators in the basic skills required.
+ Guides, assigns work, and checks results for Tech
B.
+ Assists in the development of new or modified procedures.
+ Able to work independently for more advanced Metallurgical Laboratory techniques, for example:
+ Preparation of Precision Elastic Limit (PEL) test bars by etching, measuring, and installing strain gages and performing testing of the prepared bars.
+ Making precision measurements with micrometers, microscope, stage micrometers, and electrical temperature instruments while conducting tensile property testing.
+ Evaluating metallurgical samples for cleanliness, heat-treated condition, and grain size, using any of a number of different methods.
+ Performing CTE, and Magnetic Permeability Testing.
+ Reports analytical results directly to those requesting laboratory service within the limitations established by the Supervisor.
+ Maintain Quality Systems in the laboratory and assist in writing Procedures as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in the metals or materials field with experience as a metallurgical technician strongly preferred.
+ Alternatively, candidates with 1 year of technical laboratory experience and at least 2 years of college-level laboratory experience will be considered,
** provided they have hands-on tensile testing experience** , along with proficiency in one or more of the following: metal sample preparation, mechanical testing, or metallography
+ Requires working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft products.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
+ Self-motivated and able to initiate action without direction required.
+ Ability to multi-task and prioritize required.
NDT Level III Certified Inspector-Elmore, OH

Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a highly skilled NDT professional responsible for verifying that high-value, complex components meet stringent quality standards. This individual will interpret, establish, and certify inspection techniques (Level II/III), manage compliance, document results, and mentor lower-level technicians, often working in specialized alloy or metal processing environments.
** Key Responsibilities*
* + Develop, review, and approve procedures, techniques, and acceptance criteria based on codes, standards, and customer specs.
+ Perform and oversee fluorescent/visible liquid penetrant inspections (Type I or II) to detect surface-breaking defects on critical materials like aluminum, steel, and alloys.
+ Analyze, interpret, and evaluate test indications for acceptance/rejection; generate detailed, accurate inspection reports.
+ Ensure compliance with NADCAP requirements, safety protocols, and company procedures.
+ Calibrate and maintain testing equipment for maximum sensitivity.
+ Requires Level III certification (or eligibility to be certified) in liquid penetrant inspection, often combined with experience in reading blueprints and working with advanced NDT methods.
+ Lead and execute testing across the production cycle:
Perform Work in Process (WIP), final inspection, and detailed dimensional and Non-Destructive Testing (including Dye Penetrant). Maintain accurate records throughout.
+ Prepare essential reports:
Generate reports for products and customers, collaborating with staff as needed.
+ Support source inspections:
Ensure customer requirements are met during source inspections.
+ Contribute to our Quality Management System (QMS):
Assist with calibration, MRR, DMR, RMA processes, and more.
** REQUIREMENTS:*
* + HS diploma or equivalent required
+ Minimum of two years' experience in a technical or inspection role preferred (as a Working Level 3 Inspector)
+ NAS-410 certification required (current or previously held)
