Cae Test Engineer

Responsibilities

• Guarantee strength and durability requirements of vehicle body subsystems and components on the next generation of Honda and Acura vehicles.
• Construction of high-quality finite element (FE) meshes and models of complete body subsystems and components.
• Conduct non‑linear ABAQUS FE solutions for fatigue and strength evaluation.
• Conduct nCode fatigue post‑processing to evaluate fatigue life.
• Present and document engineering conclusions clearly and confidently.
• Lead research activities to develop new, and improve existing, CAE methods.
• Occasionally validate tests and investigate related FE models and test requirements.
• When performance concerns arise from CAE validation, develop appropriate design solution strategies and work closely with design departments for implementation.

• BSME or related automotive engineering degree and a minimum of 5+ years of experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required.
• Related advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
• Experience with Abaqus and ANSA is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with FEA pre‑processor software such as Hypermesh or ANSA.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with FEA solvers such as ABAQUS, Nastran, and nCode.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Excellent strength of materials background.
• CATIA V5 knowledge is not required but desired.
• Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
