Report to: Sr. EH&S Manager
Job Description OverviewThe successful candidate will coordinate with members of the EH&S department, Project Management and Field Operations personnel. The EH&S Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for the following duties as indicated below, subject to change with or without notice. This position can be based out of Port Clinton, OH or Dublin, OH.
Responsibilities- Regularly travel to regional offices and job sites to coordinate delivery of safety equipment and materials.
- Coordinate with Field EHS professionals on equipment inspections and needs.
- Inspect safety equipment prior to it being deployed to the field.
- Assist and conduct on-site inspections to evaluate safe work practices, physical conditions and environmental practices.
- Ensure compliance with Kwest Group and site‑specific client environmental and safety procedures. Communicate and submit all findings via report to project managers, audited team members, and senior leadership in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with EHS professionals to develop controls for identified conditions and hazards.
- Coordinate the implementation of controls from results of environmental and safety analyses.
- Evaluate safety equipment, statistics, or site‑specific needs for new projects and maintain inventory of PPE and safety supplies.
- Issue stops work orders on projects that are found to have safety deficiencies.
- Maintain a positive attitude and good working relationships with customers, team members, and the public.
- Perform all duties consistent with the Company Mission Statement and the "Kwest Group" philosophy.
- Bachelor’s or an associate degree in environmental science, safety or related field is preferred but not required
- OSHA 510 preferred but not required
- Competent Experience with Excavations, Confined Spaces, Rigging, and Fall protection preferred
- Prior experience performing safety duties in civil construction, industrial, engineering, or related field
- Strong knowledge of MS Office software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task and prioritize projects, completing complex administrative tasks with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to pass a background and drug test.
- Out of town travel as required, up to 50-70%.
- Work approximately 50 – 55 hours per week.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
- To issue stop work orders on projects which are found to have EH&S deficiencies.
- To act as the Kwest Group representative to the client, subcontractors, and suppliers during the life of the project, under the direction of the assigned supervisor.
- To request assistance from other Kwest Group personnel as needed.
- Frequently required to sit; talk or hear; and use hands to handle, or touch objects or controls.
- Regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the team member may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.
- Travel from site to site will be required.
- Work environment will normally be an active construction site. Exposure to dust, noise, high heat, extreme cold, and rain should be expected.
- Team member must be physically able to perform repetitive motion and heavy lifting, as described below.
- Must be able to maintain effective audio and visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned.
- Must wear all employer‑mandated personal protective equipment, including hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, safety vests, and safety‑toed work boots. Other PPE may be required from time to time depending on special safety concerns. All PPE will be provided by the company at no cost to the employee, other than safety duties.
