Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Designer with expertise in mechanical design. The role involves creating 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD/Inventor, developing detailed mechanical designs, assemblies and layouts, and preparing manufacturing drawings. You will play a crucial role in revising and maintaining existing designs based on engineering changes and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and safety requirements.

• Create 2D drawings in AutoCAD/Inventor
• Develop detailed mechanical designs, assemblies, and layouts
• Prepare manufacturing drawings, including GD&T and BOMs
• Revise and maintain existing designs based on engineering changes
• Collaborate with engineers and cross‑functional teams to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturability requirements
• Support prototype development and design validation efforts
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, specifications, and safety requirements
• Maintain organized design files and documentation

• At least 8 years of experience in mechanical design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD/Inventor
• Strong understanding of GD&T
• Experience with conveyor systems and facility engineering
• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Familiarity with ERP/PDM systems
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments
• Knowledge of machining, sheet metal, or welded assemblies

The position offers remote flexibility depending on experience and is a hybrid role based in Port Clinton, OH.

Contract position based in Port Clinton, OH.

$35.00 – $50.00 per hour.
