Job Summary

In this role, you will support material planning and/or material coordination for a large project site. Planning will include implementation of the Material Management Plan. Coordination will include serving as a liaison between Project and Field Procurement and Construction for accurate reporting of materials. Your efforts will ensure the site receives materials required for work package installation.

Major Responsibilities
  • Serve as liaison at a project site between Project Supply Chain for reporting of undelivered materials, Field Supply Chain for stored materials, and Construction personnel for accurate reporting of materials required for work package installation.
  • Coordinate with responsible groups to ensure materials are provided in a timely manner and in sufficient quantity to support the completion of construction work.
  • Implement the planned construction activities and work packaging structure on the project through coordination with Field Engineering, Construction, and/or Subcontractors, and Project Controls.
  • Ensure accurate distribution of materials to Construction and/or Subcontractor installation locations.
  • Determine, with the functional groups, the best strategy for fabricated systems that provide the most overall value on the project.
  • Implement planned inventory control mechanisms, such as min-max and bag-and-tag, and use the Supply Chain Automation tools to ensure that construction material requirements are met.
  • Identify early on which surplus or unneeded materials should be returned to storage.
  • Coordinate material availability in support of design revisions, rework, contingency, or work‑around plans; participate in Construction and/or Subcontractor planning meetings to remain fully aware of changes in installation plans and priorities.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel for materials to be issued directly to the installation area, as opposed to being controlled in storage, and coordinate the constructability look‑ahead meetings.
  • Prepare the site constructability reports inclusive of 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day look‑aheads.
  • Utilize the materials components of the project Automation Plan (used by functional groups) to monitor related data transfers between the functional groups.
  • Adhere to the Materials Management Plan with respect to applicable commodity groups.
Education And Experience Requirements
  • Requires bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and five years of relevant experience.
Required Knowledge And Skills
  • Extensive knowledge in Materials Management, including the use of material allocation tools, inventory controls, material demand forecast planning, schedule/cost risk mitigation, and metrics/reporting.
  • Familiarity with procurement, expediting, and logistics activities to support a global materials management program.
  • Advanced skills in developing and upskilling team members, working and communicating effectively with all levels of project functional groups.
  • Preference to be familiar with Incoterms.
