Overview
Consider joining the Pennex family as a CAD Drafter at our Leetonia, OH location. This role is responsible for using specialized software to create precise and detailed technical drawings and plans for various industries, including engineering, manufacturing, and floor plans. The CAD Drafter will convert conceptual designs, rough sketches, and engineering specifications into accurate and dimensionally precise drawings.
Responsibilities- Drafting and Design:
Creates precise and accurate technical drawings, schematics, and plans based on the specifications provided by engineers or designers. - Interpretation:
Understands and interprets engineering drawings, written specifications, and design standards; ensures drawings comply with industry standards and regulations. - Collaboration:
Works closely with engineers, project managers, and other professionals to refine and modify drawings to meet project requirements. - Documentation:
Creates and maintains detailed documentation of drawings and revisions, essential for project records and quality control. - Problem-Solving:
Identifies and resolves design and drafting issues that arise during the project, ensuring drawings are both technically feasible and functional. - Software Proficiency:
Proficient in CAD software tools such as AutoCAD, Solid Works, or other industry-specific programs. - Quality Control:
Verifies the accuracy and completeness of drawings, ensuring all dimensions, scales, and notations are correct. - Updates and Revisions:
Makes revisions to drawings as project requirements change or errors are discovered, maintaining updated versions. - Compliance:
Ensures all drawings comply with relevant codes, industry standards, and regulations. - Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
- Associate’s Degree in Drafting or Related Field (desired)
- 2 years of experience in CAD Drafting
- Proficiency in CAD software essential; familiarity with AutoCAD or Solid Works preferred.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and engineers.
- Ability to identify and resolve design and drafting issues.
- Desire to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment.
- Highly motivated, self‑driven, eager to learn and apply new skills.
- Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks.
- Flexible, driven to meet tight deadlines, handle multiple projects, and prioritize appropriately.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to disseminate information clearly and concisely.
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment physical and drug screen.
- Eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsor ships not available. OPT/CPT not eligible.
