OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in automotive product development to support the design and development of electrical system components. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and have extensive experience designing automotive components from concept development through mass production.
This role focuses on the mechanical design and development of automotive electronic components, including vision systems, radar modules, safety sensors, control units, and associated mounting structures.
The engineer will lead product development activities including design feasibility, cost evaluation, strength calculations, component construction, and specification definition, while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for automotive electrical components from concept through production using CATIA V5/V6.
- Conduct design feasibility studies, cost analysis, and engineering evaluations.
- Perform structural analysis and strength calculations to validate component designs.
- Define technical specifications and part construction requirements.
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure proper fit and functional performance.
- Optimize component designs for performance, cost efficiency, and weight reduction.
- Lead prototype development, fabrication, and manufacturing readiness activities.
- Support digital mock-up (DMU) reviews and design validation processes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and program management teams throughout the development cycle.
- Ensure designs comply with customer drawing standards and technical requirements.
- Manage multiple technical projects simultaneously while meeting engineering deliverables and timelines.
- Provide technical leadership and design guidance within assigned programs.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience (MS) or 8+ years of experience (BS) in automotive product development.
