Work as part of a team to provide engineering support to ensure reliability, availability, efficiency, and functionality of all equipment, processes and projects.
Key Accountabilities• Interface with engineering staff, operations & maintenance groups, and other Luminant personnel to ensure consistent, practical, and effective engineering solutions.
• EIT (Engineer in Training) Program. Incumbents will rotate through the different areas of the plant to gain a working knowledge of those areas of the plant. Areas include, but are not limited to Safety, Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation & Control, Reliability and Chemical / Environmental.
• Will be assigned various engineering projects.
• Comply with safety policy and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Possess the ability to work independently and in a fast paced environment.
• All other duties as assigned
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. Students sponsored through Optical Practical Training (OPT) or Curricular Practical Training (CPT) are NOT eligible for this internship.
• Must be currently enrolled in a 4-year institution of higher education and pursuing a Bachelor of Science or Master's Degree in one of our desired engineering disciplines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Access desired
• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar systems
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills; presentation skills desired
• Official transcripts must be received from your school prior to start date
• Must be in good academic standing with your school
