CAE Test Engineer

Overview

The candidate will be responsible for guaranteeing strength and durability requirements of vehicle body subsystems and components on the next generation of Honda and Acura vehicles.

• Construction of high-quality FE meshes and models of complete body subsystems and components.
• Conduct non-linear ABAQUS FE solutions for fatigue and strength evaluation.
• Conduct nCode fatigue post-processing to evaluate fatigue life.
• Clear, confident presentation and documentation of engineering conclusions.
• Lead research activities to develop new, and improve existing, CAE methods.
• Occasional test validation and investigations related to FE models and test requirements.
• When performance concerns arise from CAE validation, the candidate will be responsible for developing appropriate design solution strategies and work closely with design departments for implementation.

• Abaqus, Ansa
• BSME or related automotive engineering degree and a minimum of 5+ year experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Related advanced degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience.
• Candidate should have an excellent strength of materials background.
• CATIA V5 knowledge is not required but desired.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience of FEA pre-processor software, such as Hypermesh or ANSA is required.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience of FEA solvers, such as ABAQUS, Nastran and nCode is also required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Ability to travel and work overtime may be required.
