Within the Multi-Material Interfaces Laboratory of the Research and Innovation Center at Hutchinson, there is a need to develop thermosetting resins used notably in composite materials.

We are a multidisciplinary and passionate team. In our team, your mission will be to develop formulas of thermosetting resins, as well as to implement such systems or commercial solutions. You will also be responsible for coordinating and leading activities in the field of sustainable composites. You will occupy a research engineer position in order to manage various projects within a team composed of another engineer and three technicians.

Your main missions

Your main missions are:

• Research, improve and innovate:
  • Research solutions for the realization and improvement of the group's products
  • Choose the development paths and technical solutions and evaluate the technical feasibility
  • Develop formulations that meet the requirements of the specification sheet
  • Evaluate new products and new technologies in the concerned field for the group's needs
• Coordinate:
  • Manage R&D projects in liaison with the other Laboratories of the Research and Innovation Center and with the business units
  • Follow technician missions
• Collaborate, share:
  • Develop and provide technical expertise to the R&D community of the group
  • Consolidate and animate the intragroup scientific community
  • Carry out and share technological foresight
  • Participate in the construction of internal roadmaps in the concerned field.

Your profile

You hold a degree in engineering (or preferably a doctorate) oriented towards formulation, polymer chemistry or material science.

You have experience (industrial or acquired during the thesis) in the field of formulation and implementation of various thermosetting resins or composites. Mastery of physico-chemical and mechanical characterization techniques or non-destructive control means would be an asset.

You are serious, organized, autonomous and have a pronounced taste for initiative. You like teamwork and know how to manage projects with different interfaces (internal projects, cross-functional, collaborative with external partners).
