Senior Process Engineer

Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Collecchio, near the vibrant city of Parma, dsm-firmenich is proud to announce the opening of a cutting-edge production plant in early 2027. The new state-of-the-art facility will feature the latest technologies such as ASTAROME™, to enable the use of liquid flavors in dry blends, and the production of more cost-effective reaction flavors. With automated packaging lines and modern warehouse, sampling, QC lab, and expansion capacity to ship, the site will be a state-of-the-art place to help fulfill the ambition of Taste, Texture & Health (TTH) of dsm-firmenich.

Join us as a Process Engineer and play a key role in launching our new, state-of-the-art Taste, Texture & Health plant in Collecchio. You'll drive process excellence, collaborate with diverse teams, and help shape innovative, sustainable solutions from day one.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate process commissioning and start-up activities, support and supervise plant validation and qualification activities in compliance with GMP and FDA regulations, ensuring all systems and equipment are installed and operating according to design specifications.
  • Monitor process performance and KPIs (OEE, scrap rates, yields, performance) and implement improvements to achieve operational targets for quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities (Lean manufacturing) and oversee their implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, maintenance, quality, SHE) to identify and resolve issues that arise during production, including equipment malfunctions and process deviations.
  • Create, update and approve P&'s, mass and energy balances, and process technical specifications also participating in PSAs, HAZOPs and Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Perform all work in alignment with SHE, Quality behaviors and standards also adhering to the dsm-firmenich Code of Conduct.

You bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline:
    Chemical and Process Engineering, Electrical / Mechanical or equivalent
  • 5 years as an engineer in a manufacturing environment (Food, Pharma, Chemical industries)
  • Experience with lean six sigma methodology is considered a differential.
  • Previous experience in a GMP/food or pharma environment
  • Strong expertise in P&IDs and mass and energy balances
  • Fluency in English
