Role DescriptionThe Field Service Technician position is responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing BMS, and our Industrial Control Systems. The position will be part of our engineering team supporting a variety of projects with a major focus on SCADA/HMI systems. Overall responsibilities include design, documentation, configuration, and testing of SCADA Applications across a diverse range of industries.
Job Responsibilities- Participates in Start-Up activities
- Documents work performed and prepares daily field reports for billing purposes.
- Provide customers basic application information via phone or on-site consultation
- Provides application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity.
- Travel required up to 75 to 90 %, including overnight travel by plane or automobile.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers, and product business units to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrate safety consciousness in equipment handling, electrical and electronic procedures, and the unique situations encountered at diverse work sites.
- PC technical experience and a strong background in the deployment of Microsoft Windows-based systems in an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience with Desktop Software (MS Windows XP, MS Windows 7, Office 2003, Office 2007, and Office 2010, Internet Explorer.
- Physical and logical TCP/IP Networking knowledge.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and emphasis on sharing of knowledge through peer training and good communication.
- Must have the ability to work independently or with less supervision.
- Ability to work safely on-site, follow standardized procedures, and manage time and tasks independently.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certificate or associate degree in a relevant field (e.g., electronics, industrial technology) preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations as needed.
- Prior field service or customer-facing technical support experience in an industrial or commercial environment is beneficial.
- 4 year Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science background preferred. 2 year Associate of Science Degree acceptable and /or equivalent work experience.
- Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license
- Candidate must pass background check to qualify for the position
- Experience with SCADA and PLC Configurations
- Field Instrumentation installation and troubleshooting, as well as process experience
- Read and interpret P & and logic descriptions
- General computer and Ethernet/Networking experience
- Experience with Auto CAD
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain good relations with customers.
