Cost Engineer
Evaluate product designs for manufacturability and cost
Develop should-cost models (piece + investment) using aPriori and other cost model solutions
Support RFQ activities and supplier cost evaluations
Track cost impacts from design changes
Support negotiations with cost analysis
Identify VA/VE and cost reduction opportunities
Maintain cost tracking/reporting tools
Inputs
- Spec requirements, timing, cost targets
- CAD/BOM data, supplier quotes
Parameters:
Timeframe:
June 2026 – March 2027 (extendable)
Workload: ~1 FTE (~1700–1800 hrs)
Hybrid Work: ~80% Onsite
Travel Requirements: < 5%
Required Skills:
- Cost engineering & manufacturing knowledge (injection molding, metal stamping and fabrication, thermoforming, assembly, etc.)
- Should-cost modeling experience
- Excel / reporting tools
Software:
- Excel, Power Point
- CAD viewer (CATIA V6 or equivalent)
- aPriori
