We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support the validation and confirmation of automotive infotainment components and systems. The successful candidate will apply engineering principles, analytical techniques, and industry-standard testing methodologies to develop and execute comprehensive test plans that verify product performance, durability, and compliance with design and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong technical problem-solving skills, the ability to analyze complex test data, and collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams to drive product improvements.
Responsibilities- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and validation strategies to evaluate the performance, durability, and reliability of components and systems within the assigned engineering specialty.
- Create test specifications, data acquisition settings, test schedules, and documentation required to support product validation activities.
- Prepare, configure, and operate laboratory and test equipment to conduct component and system-level testing.
- Perform moderately complex engineering tests while ensuring testing accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Analyze and interpret test data to evaluate design performance, identify failure modes, and determine root causes of product issues.
- Document test results, summarize findings, and prepare detailed technical reports and formal presentations for engineering leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Recommend design improvements and develop corrective actions based on test results and engineering analysis.
- Determine whether additional testing or validation is required to support design decisions.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and supplier engineering teams to resolve technical issues and support product development.
- Ensure all testing activities comply with applicable engineering standards, customer requirements, and internal validation processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) or Electrical Engineering (EE).
- Six (6) years of related engineering experience may be substituted for the required degree.
- 5+ years of Test Engineering experience performing validation and confirmation testing within infotainment systems, such as, head units, Heads-Up Display, audio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, or center screen display.
- Apply engineering principles, technical expertise, and analytical tools to develop comprehensive test plans and procedures.
- Evaluate the feasibility of component and system designs by conducting validation testing against design acceptance criteria, performance targets, and applicable regulatory and internal standards.
- Develop data acquisition settings, test specifications, engineering standards, and detailed test schedules.
- Prepare, configure, and operate test equipment to perform moderately complex engineering tests.
- Document, summarize, and communicate test results, conclusions, and recommendations through technical reports and formal presentations.
- Verify testing accuracy, completeness, and determine when additional testing is required.
- Analyze and interpret test data to predict product performance, identify failure modes, and provide engineering recommendations.
- Investigate issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop effective countermeasures.
- Recommend design improvements and corrective actions based on engineering analysis and validation results.
- Work effectively with cross-functional engineering teams to support product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
